SSIS Offers Turnkey Solution to Provide Safe Chairlift Access to Mineworkers at Bafokeng Rasimone Platinum Mine

G4 Civils and SSIS offered a turnkey solution meeting stringent safety requirements while saving significant construction costs and time on the Rasimone Mine, North Chairlift Shaft Project.  Unique site and project requirements necessitated an innovative construction approach by G4 Civils who approached SSIS for a value-engineered solution using a Multi•Plate system.

With the entire structure pre-assembled in six meter sections next to the decline, G4 Civils planned to lift each section on to the concrete footings and sliding it down to make space for the next section. CJH Cranes was subcontracted by G4 Civils to rig, lift and slide each section safely and effortlessly in place. Within 3 days the entire 78m long structure was installed in the decline.
